More than 7 thousand buses, electric buses and trams will be prepared for winter in Moscow

Moscow's urban land transport has begun to prepare for the winter season. More than 7,000 Mosgortrans buses and electric buses, as well as trams of the Moscow Metro, will undergo seasonal maintenance. This was announced on Thursday, September 24, by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Transport and Industry.

He noted that on behalf of the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, mandatory seasonal maintenance of ground transport is carried out in the fall to ensure comfortable and safe trips. Specialists are checking heating systems and cold protection elements, as well as preparing snow removal equipment. The official added that since the beginning of the school year and the end of the holiday season, passengers make more than 4.9 million trips by buses, electric buses and trams daily, "Moscow" city News agency reports.

In preparation for winter, specialists will check the heating and climate control systems, diagnose the main components and inspect the glass, rubber seals and other elements that protect the interior from cold and moisture. Drivers will receive training on how to work in changing weather conditions. In addition, snow removal equipment and anti-icing materials will be prepared at the operational sites and at the depot, writes "Moscow 24".
