Every tenth participant of the "Moscow Checkout" showed signs of accelerated aging

Every tenth participant of the "Moscow Checkout" program had a biological age five years or more higher than the passport age. This was announced by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

"We want Muscovites to be able to consciously manage their age: to understand how the body is changing, what influences these changes and what habits help to maintain health. This is the Moscow philosophy of healthy longevity — to give people the knowledge, tools and opportunities so that they can influence the quality and duration of their lives at any age," said Rakova.

According to her, since the launch of the program, about 1.5 million Muscovites have joined, 700 thousand of them have already passed the first stage. "Moscow Checkout" allows you to identify risks and predispositions for health, as well as to determine the biological age. If it differs from the passport number, the participant is offered to complete an additional program with a deeper set of studies. "It allows us to identify the causes and scenarios of accelerated aging in order to influence them and prevent the development of negative processes," explained Rakova.

Biological age reflects age-related changes in the body based on a set of health data. Accelerated aging may be associated, in particular, with latent inflammation, metabolic disorders, heart and vascular conditions, loss of muscle mass and decreased bone strength.

"Moscow Check-up" combines medical examinations, the federal healthy longevity program and an expanded package of examinations into a single prevention route. The program starts remotely: the user fills out a questionnaire about their well-being and lifestyle in the "EMIAS.INFO".

The system compares the information received with the data from the electronic medical record, takes into account previous studies and risk factors, and then generates an individual list of tests and examinations. The program is available to adult Muscovites who are assigned to city polyclinics.
