An expert on socio-economic policy, Yakov Yakubovich, explained the essence of the conflict over voice messages. In conversation with the agency RuNews24.ru On September 22, he explained that the main advantage of voice messages is convenience for the sender. However, this format is not always suitable for the recipient, which becomes one of the main reasons for the controversy surrounding voice calls.

According to the expert, voice messages are convenient when they allow you to save time for both interlocutors. However, long recordings can shift work onto the recipient: they have to look for an opportunity to listen to the message, and sometimes return to it to find the information they need. At the same time, voice commands are useful when it is important to convey intonation or quickly explain a complex thought.

Another problem is the habit of sending a message without formulating a thought in advance. The result is a stream of consciousness that the other person has to sort out on their own. The expert noted that voice input can be used in a different way: dictate the text, edit it and only then send it, writes RT.

As a rule of digital etiquette, the specialist suggested that before sending a long voice message, it should be clarified whether it is convenient for a person to listen to it, especially in work correspondence. In his opinion, a good communication format should save time not only for the sender, but also for the recipient. Sometimes text turns out to be a more respectful way of communicating because it forces a person to formulate their thought first.

Analyst Karina Ostronosova noted on September 23 that frequent use of voice messages in work chats can reduce productivity and slow down the completion of tasks. Unlike text, which can be read quickly, a voice message has to be listened to consistently for 30-60 seconds or longer, "Moscow 24" reports. The analyst added that it is more difficult to find specific information in such messages. Employees can spend up to 20% of their working time listening to old voice calls again, writes 360.ru .

Prior to this, Konstantin Shulenin, an expert on network threats, warned about the dangers of voice and video messages in messengers. According to him, cybercriminals have begun using artificial intelligence (AI) and deepfake technology to impersonate other people in messengers and social networks.
