In Makhachkala, in the village of Novy Khushet, a gas explosion occurred in a private apartment building. This was announced on September 21 in the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic of Dagestan.

"A gas-air mixture explosion occurred in a private apartment building on Kirova Street in Novy Khushet. There is destruction and casualties. All emergency services are currently working on the site," the agency said in a message on its Telegram channel.

According to the updated information, a man born in 1982 was injured. The victim was hospitalized in the burn center of the Republican Clinical Hospital of Makhachkala with burns of the upper extremities.

33 people and nine pieces of equipment are involved in the aftermath of the explosion.

According to the preliminary version, the cause of the incident could be the use of an uncertified heating furnace (bourgeoisie). Information about the extent of the destruction of the house continues to be clarified.
