The Russian electoral system has demonstrated its resilience and ability to withstand attempts at external pressure during the State Duma elections. This was announced on September 21 by the Chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko.

"Our electoral system has proven its resilience and ability to calmly resist attempts by external pressure and discredit elections," the Federation Council speaker noted.

She also stated that before the State Duma elections, the head of EU diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, sent recommendations on the assessment of the electoral process in Russia. Matvienko noted that she considers such statements to be prepared in advance and untrue.

The Chairman of the Federation Council stressed that Russian voters had the opportunity to choose between different political forces. According to her, a wide range of parties allows citizens to support political associations that are close to them in their views.
