There were no flares in the Sun for four days for the first time since 2021

For the first time since December 2021, the Sun has not recorded a single flare in four days. This was announced on September 17 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

"Solar activity, unfortunately for some and to the delight of others, continues to set anti-records. For the first time since December 2021, not a single solar flare of ordinary class C or higher has been registered on the star in four days," the Telegram channel says.

According to experts, such a long pause is not typical for the current phase of the solar cycle. The laboratory clarified that the anti-record set in 2021 may be broken if solar activity does not resume within the next 24 hours.
