Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed Al Nahyan met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi. This was announced on September 12 by the WAM agency.

"The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the strong strategic relationship between the UAE and the Russian Federation. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS summit, held in New Delhi, the capital of India," the publication says.

It is specified that during the meeting, the parties discussed Russian-Emirati relations and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The leaders also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues and stressed the importance of continuing coordination following the BRICS summit. The results should be implemented in the form of practical initiatives that benefit all parties.

On September 12, Putin took part in the BRICS summit in New Delhi. At a meeting of the leaders of the organization's countries, he announced further strengthening of cooperation between the countries of the association, shifting the global balance of power in favor of new growth centers, and also called for reforming the World Trade Organization, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and expanding the representation of Asian, African and Latin American countries in the UN Security Council.
