The Russian Ministry of Education has increased the number of hours for basic military training in schools. Starting from the new academic year, 68 hours will be allocated to this course in the framework of the subject "Fundamentals of security and protection of the Motherland" for students in grades 8-11. This was announced on September 13 by the head of the department Sergey Kravtsov.
"We have increased the number of hours for initial military training. ""Starting this academic year, 50% of the course "Fundamentals of security and protection of the Motherland" is allocated to it, that is, for four academic years it is 68 hours," Kravtsov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
He specified that the program is designed for four years of study and is included in the course of basic general and secondary general education.
Previously, initial military training accounted for 20% of the time in the framework of the subject "Fundamentals of security and defense of the Motherland." Classes will now be divided into 34 hours in grades 8-9 and 10-11.
On August 8, Kravtsov announced that Russian schoolchildren will start studying according to the updated curriculum from September 1, changes in which are aimed at forming a unified educational space in the country. """""""" The spiritual and moral culture of Russia"" will be introduced in the new academic year, and the course "Fundamentals of security and protection of the Motherland" will be divided into "Life safety" and "Basic military training".
