The rise in gas prices in Europe was the result of a flawed economic policy. This was announced on September 13 by Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

"The high cost of the failures of globalist ideology and its deep economic irrationality," Dmitriev wrote on the social network X.

This is how he commented on the message of one of the users of the social network X, who published a comment by Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding rising gas prices in Europe.

Gas was given: fuel prices in Europe may stay at around $1,000 for a long time

The situation will lead to losses for EU companies and expensive electricity.

On September 11, Putin noted that Europe's mistakes in the energy sector would lead to an even greater increase in gas prices for Europeans. The Russian leader clarified that participants in exchange trading do not take into account the technical condition of the storage facilities and the physical volume of the resource. According to him, traders focus on current benefits by withdrawing gas purchased earlier at lower prices from storage facilities. The Russian leader stressed that such an approach could lead to an increase in fuel prices from current levels to $1.5 thousand.

Glenn Disen, a professor at the University of Southeastern Norway, noted on September 12 that Putin's statement about rising gas prices indicates the failure of Western policy. According to the professor, in the European Union, the refusal of Russian supplies was previously presented as a step towards "energy security," however, in his opinion, the consequences of this policy had a negative impact on European industry.
