Sergunina named the number of participants in the project "Moscow. Traditions. People"

More than 1.2 thousand people took part in the educational project "Moscow. Traditions. People," said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina. Since February, local history lectures and sightseeing walking tours have been held in all districts of the capital, dedicated to the history of the districts and the fate of famous residents of the city, including participants in the Great Patriotic War, cultural and artistic figures.

"One of the objectives of the project is to show that everyone can contribute to the preservation of the capital's heritage. Experts told the participants not only about the history of VDNKh, the Lublino estate or "Kolomenskoye" Museum-Reserve, but also about how to work properly with archival documents and photographs," Sergunina said.

So, on sightseeing walks, the townspeople saw the Moscow Palace of Pioneers, the building of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Catherine Palace, the Moscow Academic Musical Theater named after K.S. Stanislavsky and V.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko and the ZIL Cultural Center. The lectures, in particular, talked about the Rostokino division, which in 1941 enrolled more than 11 thousand people, the life of Korney Chukovsky in Peredelkin and the poets of the Silver Age.

In addition, an online competition was held. Its participants shared stories about the country's heroes, outstanding residents and architecture of the capital. The jury selected finalists in each of the 12 districts, and the winners were determined by Muscovites in the voting in the "Active Citizen". A series of polls gathered more than 1.6 million opinions.
