The company that owned the bus that crashed near Arkhangelsk ignored the complaints
The management of "MalAuto", which owned a bus involved in a fatal accident in the Arkhangelsk region, was irresponsible about the safety of its passengers, and also paid salaries to employees according to a gray scheme. The wife of one of the former drivers of this company told "Izvestia" on September 12.
""Buses were forbidden to be repaired under the pretext of "no one to go on the flight," which is why responsible drivers had to fix cars at night on their own, and the rest drove until the transport broke down right on the highway," she shared.
The woman said that her husband did not agree with such a corporate policy and had been trying to resist it for six months. He refused to take broken-down vehicles from the fleet, but then other employees were simply put behind the wheel. Eventually, the man, realizing that his superiors were focused solely on profit and ignored people's safety, quit.
According to his wife, passengers and drivers repeatedly complained about the driving style of the driver who had an accident, but the management turned a blind eye to these signals. The interlocutor of "Izvestia" explained that initially a certain Nikolai was at the head of the enterprise, who was subsequently arrested. Then there was a formal re-registration of the business to his deputy Olga, whose duties were actually performed by the wife of the prisoner named Natalia.
In "MalAuto", according to the woman's testimony, the procedure for paying salaries was violated, since officially employees received only the minimum wage, and the rest was in an envelope.
"Meanwhile,"Tatyana Nemytova, a survivor of the accident involving the bus of this carrier, added in a conversation with Izvestia that the ticket purchased for the flight was marked "IP Malinnikov." She and her sister often used the services of this entrepreneur, as part of which she established that buses on the Severodvinsk – Dvinskaya Bereznik route were driven in shifts by two men aged about 40 and 55, respectively.
The accident, which killed at least 13 people, including three minors, occurred on the 1180th km of the M-8 highway "Kholmogory" a day earlier. Previously, a bus collided with a logging truck and a passenger car at the moment when its driver was trying to overtake on the oncoming lane.
Nemytova shared with "Izvestia" on September 12 her memories of the first minutes after the accident: the interior of the bus was badly smashed, and groans were heard everywhere. The girl herself suffered numerous bruises, while her sister suffered a broken left arm, shrapnel wounds to her face and a severe lip cut.
Mourning has been declared in the Arkhangelsk region today. Meanwhile, the Investigative Committee of Russia has opened two criminal cases into the incident, and its chairman, Alexander Bastrykin, has requested a report on the progress of the investigation.
