The US House of Representatives next week will consider a bill on new sanctions against Russia, initiated by the late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (listed as an extremist and terrorist by Rosfinmonitoring). This was reported by the Reuters news agency on September 11.

"Next week, the U.S. House of Representatives will begin considering a large—scale bill on sanctions against Russia," the publication says.

It is clarified that the document had previously received support in the US Senate, but faced resistance from Democrats in the House of Representatives. The meeting of the House Rules Committee is scheduled for September 14.

According to the agency, the approval of the bill will allow it to be submitted to the full house later this week.

Those who supported the draft, which was supported in a preliminary vote by a majority of senators on July 28, believed that measures to tighten US sanctions against Russia would honor Graham, who died on July 11. The Politico newspaper reported on August 31 that the bill on the introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions faced serious disagreements in the US House of Representatives, as it did not receive unequivocal support either among Democrats or among some Republicans. It was clarified that the prospects for advancing the initiative through the House of Representatives remain uncertain.
