The tunnel from the Island of Dreams to the Maple Boulevard has been completed

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the completion of the tunnel passage between the stations "Island of dreams" and "Klenovy Boulevard" Biryulevskaya metro line. Earlier, the Elena shield laid the right tunnel on the same site, the head of the capital noted in the channel at Maks.

The Esmina shield covered more than 1.6 km, and part of the way ran under the Moskva riverbed, Sobyanin stressed. "The work was carried out in conditions of complex hydrogeology: in addition to hard and semi—hard clays, sandy and mixed saturated soils are located here," the mayor said.

The Biryulevskaya metro line will last for more than 22 km and will run from the territory of the former ZIL industrial zone to the Biryulyovo Zapadnoye and Biryulyovo Vostochnoye districts. The new line will house 10 stations, eight of which are already under construction. According to Sobyanin's estimates, the launch of the new branch line will improve transport services for more than 1 million residents of the capital, and they will have convenient and fast transfers to the BCL, MCC, Troitskaya, Zamoskvoretskaya and railway lines.

Earlier, Sobyanin said that in seven months of this year, 14.7 km of subway tunnels were laid in Moscow. During this time, according to him, construction work was carried out at 25 stations, ten tunnel-boring mechanized complexes (TPMC) were operating.
