The Finnish Transport Association has demanded that the authorities reduce diesel prices

The Finnish government urgently needs to take action in connection with rising diesel fuel prices. This was announced on September 9 by the Finnish transport and logistics association SKAL together with the Association of bus carriers and taxis.

"The government is obliged to review the situation in the context of the ongoing energy price crisis and take appropriate measures," the associations said in a joint statement.

The cost of diesel fuel in Finland has increased by more than €50 cents per liter over the past six months and exceeded €2.5. Over the year, the price has increased by 40%. According to SKAL's calculations, the additional costs for freight carriers alone will increase to €480 million per year. The associations warn that this will eventually affect the construction, trade and industrial sectors, as well as the end user.
