With a daily diet of 2,000 calories, the permissible amount of sugar is about 12 teaspoons, but experts recommend cutting this amount by about half to maintain health. This was announced on September 10 by the head of the Department of endocrinology, an expert at the Clinic of Preventive and Anti-aging Medicine of the European Medical Center, Kamila Tabeeva.

"The WHO (World Health Organization — Ed.) recommends limiting free sugars to 10% of the daily calorie intake, and ideally to 5%," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The doctor explained that free sugars are found not only in sugar, which a person adds to drinks on their own, but also in many ready—made products - pastries, sauces, sweet soda and other goods.

Tabeeva clarified that with a daily ration of 2,000 kcal, the maximum recommended amount of sugar is about 50 grams, or 12 teaspoons. At the same time, she stressed that reducing its consumption to 25 grams per day, that is, about six teaspoons, can additionally have a beneficial effect on health.

Nutritionist Anton Polyakov told on September 9 who should stop eating condensed milk. The expert noted that condensed milk is more likely to be called a harmful product than a useful one. The specialist advised against giving condensed milk to children, as a large amount of sugar can negatively affect, among other things, the child's psychoemotional state.
