The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention until November 6, 2026," the statement said.

According to the Investigative Committee, on September 6, the 53-year-old defendant met a peer on the street and invited him to his home for a drink. During the feast, the men quarreled and fought, the landlord kicked the guest out, accusing him of involvement in the loss of a mobile phone.

The next morning, the Tyumen resident went out into the courtyard and found his new acquaintance sleeping on a bench at the neighboring entrance. The man returned home, took gasoline, poured it over the sleeping man and lit it with a lighter, after which he disappeared. The flames were extinguished by passers-by, and they called an ambulance. The man has about 80% of his body burned, he is in the hospital, writes the news agency " <url>".
