"We consider this latest episode of anti—Russian hysteria in Europe as a pre-planned escalatory maneuver sanctioned by the top brass and having nothing to do with a subjective trial," Zakharova said at a briefing.

She also stated that the purpose of this campaign is to maintain a high degree of Russophobia in Europe, which should distract people's attention from the gross political miscalculations of European elites and the allocation of huge resources to support Ukraine. It is also necessary to accelerate the deployment of the military-industrial complex (MIC) of the European Union (EU) under the pretext of an allegedly inevitable war with Russia.
