The Russian Academy of Sciences urged Russians to choose holidays in Russia because of infectious risks abroad

Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Education Gennady Onishchenko on September 9 urged Russians to spend their holidays in Russia in order to reduce possible health risks during foreign trips.

"We warned our tourists about the risks, let's protect ourselves without leaving our country, having studied everything thoroughly," Onishchenko told RIA Novosti.

He also noted that the best vacation is a vacation in Russia.

A lot of health problems worsen in the off-season

Onishchenko announced on August 16 that in Russia in the fall they would recommend wearing medical masks for the prevention of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections, but such measures would be distributed only in certain regions, and not throughout the country. The academician noted that no pandemic outbreak of influenza is expected in the upcoming epidemic season.
