The GAC GS8 crossovers have problems with climate control.

GAC announced a service campaign in Russia, which concerns the GS8 crossovers of the second generation. The problem lies in the pipes of the air conditioning and heating systems of the rear climate control circuit, the press service of the Chinese manufacturer said on September 8.

The reason for the announcement of the service campaign was the vulnerability of the standard aluminum tubes and their connections located in the lower part of the crossover and the areas of the rear contour of the climate control system.

It turned out that due to the effects of road reagents and moisture, they wear out quickly. This can lead to depressurization and leakage of the refrigerant or coolant.

This problem was identified last year. Initially, the joints were treated with anti-corrosion materials. Later, it was decided to completely replace these highways with new modified ones with enhanced protection. The replacement is free and will take from four to seven hours.

On August 29, Gennady Abramenkov, Deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, announced that Hyundai, Kia and GAC had the largest recall campaigns among passenger cars in Russia in 2025. He clarified that Hyundai itself recalled almost 100 thousand cars due to the risk of a short circuit, Kia - more than 55 thousand for the same reason, and GAC — about 17 thousand due to a possible fuel leak.
