The Moscow court fined the Booking service 6 million rubles for banned content in the Russian Federation.

Tagansky district court of Moscow fined the Dutch company "Booking.com B.V." for 6 million rubles for non-removal of content prohibited by Russian law. This was reported on September 8 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

The reason was an ad posted on the housing booking site. The description specified that the apartments are rented to LGBT people (the movement is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

The case was considered under Part 4 of Article 6.21 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for liability for propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations on the Internet. The second episode was considered under Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Failure by the site owner to delete information if the obligation to delete is provided for by law").

During the investigation, the security forces seized dozens of boxes of dubious literature.

On September 2, the Tagansky District Court of Moscow found the Telegram messenger guilty of committing administrative offenses related to the failure to delete prohibited information. The messenger was brought to administrative responsibility under Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Failure by the site owner or the owner of an information resource on the Internet to delete information or pages"). Telegram was fined 11.4 million rubles.
