On September 7, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko announced that he had submitted his resignation.

"This is a political decision. And I accepted it consciously. I don't want the position of Prosecutor General to be used as an instrument of political confrontation. My position on the charges remains unchanged," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

In his statement, Kravchenko also thanked his colleagues, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the Verkhovna Rada for their trust and asked them to accept his resignation. The reasons for the decision are not specified.

On September 4, Mikhail Tkach, a journalist from Ukrayinska Pravda, reported Kravchenko missing. It was noted that the Prosecutor General stopped contacting after he entered the government quarter. The official's disappearance coincided with the publication of an investigation by anti-corruption authorities into the activities of fraudulent call centers. At the same time, the office of the Prosecutor General denied reports of searches at Kravchenko himself.
