Since the resumption of the naval blockade against Iran, the US Navy has redirected 94 commercial vessels, stopped three and boarded two for inspection. This was announced on September 7 by the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM).
"As of September 7, the forces of the US Central Command redirected 94 commercial vessels, disabled three and boarded two to ensure full compliance with the blockade," the message on the social network X says.
CENTCOM clarified that these measures are aimed at ensuring full compliance with the blockade regime imposed by the United States against Iran. Operations are conducted in the waters of the Arabian Sea with the involvement of aviation, including E/A-18G aircraft based on the aircraft carrier George Bush.
CENTCOM reported on August 23 that since the resumption of the naval blockade of Iran, the US Navy has intercepted 70 merchant ships associated with this country. We are talking about ships that were heading to or leaving Iranian ports.
