Prosecutor General of Ukraine Kravchenko has resigned.
Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko has submitted his resignation. He announced this on September 7.
"This is a political decision. And I accepted it consciously. I don't want the position of Prosecutor General to be used as an instrument of political confrontation. My position on the charges remains unchanged," the Telegram channel says.
Kravchenko thanked his colleagues who do their job honestly and stressed that their work should not be devalued. The Prosecutor General also expressed gratitude to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the Verkhovna Rada "for their trust" and asked them to accept his dismissal.
On September 4, Mikhail Tkach, a journalist from Ukrayinska Pravda, reported Kravchenko missing. It was noted that the Prosecutor General stopped contacting after he entered the government quarter. The official's disappearance coincided with the publication of an investigation by anti-corruption authorities into the activities of fraudulent call centers. At the same time, the office of the Prosecutor General denied reports of searches at Kravchenko himself.
