The Supreme Court of Russia upheld the verdict of Tyumen crime boss Dima Cherny (real name Dmitry Lyapustin). This is stated in the document, which was reviewed by Izvestia on September 7.

The cassation appeals were dismissed. In April 2025, the Tyumen Regional Court sentenced Lyapustin to nine years in prison.

According to investigators, while serving time for another crime, Dima Cherny gained credibility among the convicts. He also adhered to an informal criminal hierarchy and opposed the order established by the administration of the correctional institution. The tattoos on Lyapustin's body also testified to his high status in the criminal environment.

The court found that after his release, Dima Cherny engaged in extortion, including demanding money from businessmen to provide informal assistance to prisoners. In December 2023, he was detained after receiving 20,000 rubles from a Tyumen businessman. During a search of Lyapustin's house, a sawn-off hunting rifle was found.

The court found him guilty of extortion, illegal possession of weapons and occupying the highest position in the criminal hierarchy. Lyapustin denied his guilt and called the criminal prosecution illegal.

On September 4, the press service of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia detained the leader of a criminal group, Vladimir Tatarenkov, and his accomplice on suspicion of organizing the murder of two residents of the region in 1993. According to the investigation, a criminal case into the murder of two men aged 38 and 45 was initiated back in 1993, but the investigation was resumed after new information appeared. Investigators, together with criminologists, identified the persons involved in the crime.
