Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Moscow schoolgirl Ekaterina Malkova, who scored 500 points on the Unified State Exam for the first time in history. He said this on September 5 during the celebration of Moscow City Day in Zaryadye Park.

"I am pleased to note the outstanding achievements of Moscow schoolgirl Ekaterina Malkova — it is possible and necessary to recall such guys and girls — when passing the Unified State Exam, for the first time in history, she received the maximum result in five disciplines at once," Putin said.

The President congratulated the girl and her family on their success, noting that she is now a Phys.Tech student. The Head of State also highlighted the merits of the entire Moscow education system in achieving this result.

On July 8, Sergey Kravtsov, the head of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, informed Putin during a meeting with the government about the record result of a graduate from Moscow on the Unified State Exam for the entire 25-year history of the exam — 500 points. So, the girl took the Russian language, specialized mathematics, chemistry, physics and computer science for the Unified State Exam.

On June 29, the graduate shared with Izvestia details about her training, in which she focused on lessons and additional classes with teachers at school. According to the girl, after seeing the results, she considered what was happening a joke. Despite her penchant for the exact sciences, the most time-consuming stage for her was the preparation for a compulsory humanities subject.
