Ukrainian Armed Forces strikes on Russian territory

The operational headquarters for the Krasnodar Territory reported that due to a massive attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on Sochi and the federal territory of Sirius, a fire broke out in the city. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that the air defense forces shot down 10, 13 and 12 drones on approach to Moscow.

​Visa restrictions for Russians

EC representative Markus Lammert said that the EC is working on "targeted restrictive" measures regarding visas for Russians after "hostile actions." The discussion of new measures was provoked, among other things, by the versions that one of the defendants in the incident with the drone in Leipzig had an Italian tourist visa.

Witkoff and Kushner's plans for a visit to Kiev

Zelensky said that the special envoy of the US president, Steve Witkoff, and the son-in-law of the American leader, Jared Kushner, confirmed plans for their visit to Kiev. He noted that the Ukrainian side expects a meeting in the coming days.

Pashinyan on the law on the beginning of Armenia's accession to the EU

Pashinyan stated at a briefing that Armenia does not intend to abandon the law on the beginning of EU accession. He noted that before the adoption of the law, there were doubts about the need for Armenia for anyone, but now the situation has changed. According to Pashinyan, thanks to this decision, Yerevan has strengthened its position in the international arena and achieved success in foreign policy.

At the session "Human Capital of Russia and Africa: Investments in the future of partnership" within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum – 2026, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Olga Petrova emphasized the multifaceted nature of cooperation between Russian and African universities. Petrova also focused on the steady trend towards an increase in the number of students from African countries in Russian educational institutions: now there are 37 thousand.

At the same session, the Chairman of the Association for Economic Cooperation with African Countries, Galli Monastyreva, noted the high demand for Russian education in African countries. As an illustrative example, the speaker spoke about students from Africa who are studying agricultural specialties in Russia: after completing their studies, they plan to return to their homeland and apply Russian technologies and standards for growing crops in their work.

Jose Fernando Sambu, Head of the Department for work with government authorities and diplomatic missions of African countries at the African International Congress, called pedagogy the most sought-after field of study in Russia among students from Africa.
