- Foreign experts noted the national identity of Russian brands at Moscow Fashion Week
Moscow Fashion Week will be held from September 26 to October 1 at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall. On the eve of the event, foreign experts told how Russian brands attract foreign audiences and what helps them enter international markets. They named national identity, high professional level and design identity among the main advantages.
CEO and Co-founder of MyFashionChamber (International Fashion Chamber of Malaysia) Jay Ayshak noted that Russian designers deeply respect their cultural code, while organically combining it with a modern cut. According to her, the Moscow Fashion Week has expanded her understanding of Russian culture.: "I saw a creative industry that is distinguished by thoughtfulness, respect for heritage and a serious attitude to craft." According to her, with proper positioning, Russian brands have the potential to "confidently enter the Southeast Asian market," especially in niche premium segments.
Mahlet Teklemariam, founder of the Hub of Africa Fashion Week (Fashion Week in Ethiopia), drew attention to the high professional level of Russian designers: "The collections were distinguished by thoughtful design, visual expressiveness and demonstrated deep design maturity." According to her, the industry is confidently building its own aesthetic direction, which gives it "special strength and authenticity."
President and CEO of Costa Rica Fashion Week Forever Green (Costa Rica Fashion Week) Karina Diaz Vargas called the cultural component of Russian fashion her fundamental strength: "Moscow Fashion Week has strengthened my understanding of Russia as a culture with a deep aesthetic foundation and subtle artistic sensitivity. Fashion is perceived here as a natural continuation of history, art and literature. I better understood how Russian design conducts a dialogue with national identity while remaining modern, which is especially valuable in a global context." According to her, Russian fashion has qualities that are "fully inherent" in projects with high international potential, and Latin American interest in cooperation continues to grow.
Foreign experts note that Russian brands attract the attention of an international audience due to the combination of national identity, modern design language and high level of performance. At the same time, interest in Russian fashion goes beyond acquaintance with individual collections and opens up opportunities for professional dialogue and cooperation with foreign markets. Moscow Fashion Week creates conditions for this by bringing together Russian designers and representatives of the international fashion industry on one platform.
Moscow Fashion Week will be held from September 26 to October 1 at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall. As part of the event, Russian and foreign designers will present their collections, a market and showroom will operate, as well as lectures by leading industry experts and the World Fashion Shorts fashion short film festival.
