The MosMedIA Moscow digital platform for the analysis of radiation research using artificial intelligence is now used by medical organizations in 75 regions of Russia. This was announced on September 2 by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin during a visit to the Moscow Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine.

The platform provides 18 AI services to the regions for the analysis of computed tomograms, radiographs, fluorograms and mammograms. They are able to detect up to 14 different pathologies in one study, and image processing in most cases takes no more than five minutes.

"We have decided to open these services to all regions of our country, and today 75 regions and 2.5 thousand clinics have joined these services. And in just over two years, 18 million such images have already been analyzed and diagnosed across the country," he said.

According to him, a telemedicine diagnostic center was previously established in Moscow, where specialists analyzed a large number of radiation examinations, but the increase in the number of images required additional solutions. The mayor said that after the introduction of AI technologies, labor productivity increased five to six times, and the number of errors in the analysis of research was halved.

In turn, the head of the Russian Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, noted that the introduction of modern technologies using AI has improved the quality of diagnostics. According to him, the model proposed by Moscow has become widespread in medical organizations across the country.

"It's actually spread everywhere <... In fact, this guarantees an error—free diagnosis using artificial intelligence," Murashko said.

He added that one of the strengths of this model is the constant quality control of artificial intelligence by doctors. Specialists from Moscow and the regions evaluate the results of the system, and when discrepancies with medical reports are identified, the algorithms are adjusted.

Relevant analysts noted on August 24 that Russian clinics have begun to massively implement AI for automation. It was noted that AI today covers the entire patient's journey — from initial treatment to diagnosis. Speech analytics technologies help classify queries and direct people to relevant specialists. The introduction of AI agents has reduced the time for registration of passes in medical organizations from three minutes to several seconds.
