A new criminal case has been opened against the journalist of "Rain" Kotrikadze.

In relation to the leading Dozhd TV channel (recognized as a foreign agent and an undesirable organization in the Russian Federation) Ekaterina Kotrikadze (listed as a terrorist and extremist, recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) has opened a new criminal case. This was reported on September 2 in the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate (GSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in Moscow.

"She is accused in absentia of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Evading duties provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents)," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is noted that the illegal activities of the defendant were revealed jointly by investigators of the capital's Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and operational services. She is expected to be charged in absentia in the near future.
