Hungary again blocked negotiations on Ukraine's EU membership

Hungary has again blocked the opening of the second and third clusters of negotiations on Ukraine and Moldova's accession to the European Union (EU). This was reported on September 2 by the Euractiv portal with reference to EU diplomats and an official.

"Hungary has once again blocked progress in [EU] membership negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova, suspending discussions on access to the single market and social policy," the publication says.

Hungary blocked the start of negotiations on Ukraine's further integration into the EU on July 29. Budapest opposed Ukraine's accelerated accession to the Union.
