In the Rostov region, a farmer was fined after a fire due to the fall of an APU drone.

A farmer from the Rostov region was fined 60 thousand rubles after a fire that started in his field as a result of the fall of a Ukrainian drone (UAV). Alexander, the victim, told Izvestia about this on September 1.

According to the 64-year-old man, by the time of the incident, the wheat on the site had already been mowed, and he was working in another field. The law does not oblige him to remove the remaining stubble.

"The workers are leaving, and I'm on duty with the tractor. <...> In the field, when it's not cleaned, do you imagine the losses? <...> So it's not my fault at all," he shared.

After the crash of the UAV, the farmer was called to the police. According to the man, the staff discovered the drone and drew up a resolution, pointing to the stubble left after harvesting.

Alexander clarified that the drone fell on two sites belonging to him at once. A fire broke out on one of them, while the second, according to him, did not catch fire.

The farmer was given two months to pay the fine.

The court cancelled the fine on August 20. RT's editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan wanted to pay the pensioner's fine. She noted that Russia does not yet have rules of conduct in such situations, and suggested developing an appropriate procedure.
