Ushakov reported on the discussion of the summit with Trump by Putin and Xi Jinping

During the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the SCO summit in Bishkek, the possibility of holding a trilateral meeting of leaders with the participation of American President Donald Trump at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit was discussed. This was announced on September 1 by Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

"Xi Jinping, as the host, mentioned that Trump would come, apparently, and, obviously, Putin would also come as an invited guest," he said in an interview with Vesti News agency journalist Pavel Zarubin.

Ushakov clarified that the leaders discussed the possibility of holding a trilateral meeting, but there is also the possibility of organizing conversations "each with each other" separately from each other.

Ushakov said on August 23 that if Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump participate in the APEC summit in China, they can talk. At the same time, he pointed out that so far there have been no contacts regarding the meeting of the presidents at the summit.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on August 28 that a conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump was not yet in the plans. Peskov also commented on Trump's recent words about a "good conversation" with Putin. According to the press secretary of the Russian leader, there have been no new contacts between Moscow and Washington at the leadership level recently. He explained that we are talking about previous contacts.
