Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev instructed to evaluate the regulatory regulation of accounting for animals in private subsidiary farms. This was announced on September 1 on the website of the Government of the Russian Federation.

"In connection with the statement of the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and the appeals of citizens, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev instructed the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and the Rosselkhoznadzor to conduct an additional assessment of the practical implementation of the requirements for the registration of animals in private subsidiary farms," the message says.

The departments will submit proposals to improve the process, taking into account the position of the State Duma and relevant associations.

Starting from September 1, 2026, owners of private subsidiary farms with a population of more than 10 heads of poultry are required to register it in the state information system. The new rules apply to chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowls, quails and ostriches.

A day earlier, videos appeared on social networks showing Russians carrying their chickens to the MFC for recalculation and registration. However, on September 1, the Rosselkhoznadzor announced that the birds did not need to be transported anywhere. To register, you must contact the state veterinary service at your place of residence.
