Japan's oldest resident, Shigeko Kagawa, has died at the age of 115. This was announced on August 31 by the Yahoo portal with reference to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Security of the country.

"Shigeko Kagawa, a 115—year-old resident of Yamato-Koriyama, Nara Prefecture, who was the oldest person in Japan, died on August 27," the text says.

The woman was born on May 28, 1911. Now 114-year-old Fuye Kishimoto, who was born on December 20, 1911 and lives in Kyoto, is considered the oldest Japanese.
