The agency noted that there was no autonomous smoke detector in the house, which would have prevented the incident.

Later, the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the Tomsk region reported that a criminal case had been initiated in accordance with Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence").
