A boy died in a fire in a timber apartment building in the city of Asino, Tomsk region. This was announced on August 31 in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

"As a result of the fire, the wooden crate of the roof of the house burned throughout the entire area, and it partially collapsed. The fire damaged the wooden crate of the roof and walls of the covered courtyard, summer kitchen, bathhouse, wood-burning stove. Firefighters found the body of a boy born in 2023 on a sofa in the summer kitchen," the ministry said in a statement to Maks.

It is specified that the tragedy occurred on August 30. By the time the specialists arrived, the living quarters and nearby buildings were already engulfed in flames. 12 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and 4 units of specialized equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire on an area of 505 square meters. m.

The agency noted that there was no autonomous smoke detector in the house, which would have prevented the incident.

Later, the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the Tomsk region reported that a criminal case had been initiated in accordance with Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence"). It was noted that experts are now conducting investigative procedures to determine the cause of the fire.

Two days earlier, a fire broke out on the roof of a multi-storey residential building in the Moskovsky district of St. Petersburg. The incident was recorded on Kievskaya Street. The main directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the city reported that the fire had been eliminated, while there was no information about the victims.
