In the Grand Canyon National Park in the USA, a 46-year-old man died due to a flash flood. This was reported on August 30 by the American TV channel CNN with reference to the National Park Service of the USA.

"As a result of the sudden flooding in the Grand Canyon, one person died," the text says.

According to the TV channel, as a result of the flood, almost all pedestrian bridges over the Bright Angel Creek were destroyed. A section of the Colorado River was also temporarily closed to traffic due to debris and metal structures. At the moment, search operations are continuing.

"The flood also disabled the water supply serving tourists in the national park, which led to limited water resources," the publication says.

It is specified that the disaster struck the park after a series of storms. About 2.5 cm of precipitation fell during the day.

CBS News reported earlier in the day that about 15 people were missing after flash flooding in the Grand Canyon in the United States. According to the TV channel, after serious damage caused by the flood, the park staff evacuated at least 62 people from the popular tourist area.
