On social networks, scammers distribute videos with free health tips, after which viewers are offered to buy private courses, books or author's techniques. This was announced on August 31 by Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes Kaplan Panesh from the LDPR faction.

"Be careful: if you are offered to buy something after a free video, it is almost always a trap. The authors of such channels often have no medical education. Their goal is not to improve your health, but to make money by selling courses, books, and author's techniques. First, they give free recipes to gain trust. Then they offer to get acquainted with the full version for money," Panesh said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

According to the deputy, the recommendations themselves in such videos can often be harmless. However, after viewing, the user is asked to leave contact information, after which they begin to send him advertisements and convince him to purchase expensive products with questionable content. Panes called pensioners a particularly vulnerable group, who make up almost 40% of the audience of such scams.

Panes urged to be wary of promises of rapid healing, offers to buy a "unique" technique or book, as well as authors without a proven medical education. He called obsessive requests to subscribe or leave a phone number and the lack of specific information about the course content additional signs of potential deception.
