Russian figure skaters Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov did not receive the neutral status of the International Skating Union (ISU). This was announced on August 29 by the Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, coach Tamara Moskvina.

She explained that the athletes were absent from the master class in Igor, as this event is held to see how ready the skaters are for certain starts.

"As a human being, due to the fact that they were not given the status of neutral athletes, and there was such a promise, athletes who are in the same position as them were given the status. Therefore, in a purely human way, this is a small emotional release from the need to perform in a bad mood," Sport-Express quotes Moskvina as saying.

The ISU has approved the applications of eight athletes, and the FFKR is preparing the distribution of Russians for the first foreign tournaments.

On August 28, the International Skating Union changed the rules for the admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in the Grand Prix series. According to the updated regulations, skaters from these countries with neutral status must meet additional conditions to be included in the reserve list. To do this, athletes must compete in other international tournaments, including the Challenger series, and score certain points.
