A resident of Murmansk lost more than 2.3 million rubles as a result of fraud. The man was trying to buy gold.

According to the 56-year-old victim, he used a mobile application for the purchase. Soon, a stranger wrote to him via messenger, who introduced himself as a broker. He offered to earn additional income on the financial exchange. The Murmansk resident agreed to register a personal account and transfer money to a "special" account, Bi-port news agency writes.

In addition to personal savings, the victim used credit facilities. A criminal case has been opened into fraud.

In the Irkutsk region, a 59-year-old woman confided in an interlocutor from a dating site. She transferred more than 1 million rubles to outside accounts.
