Medvedev saw no need for mobilization in Russia

There are no plans to mobilize in Russia, as the armed forces have enough volunteers signing the contract. This was announced on August 28 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.

Speaking to the participants of the New Media Festival, he stressed that the replenishment of the ranks of military personnel occurs at the expense of citizens who make this decision consciously, based on patriotic beliefs.

"There are no mobilization plans in our country. Those of our guys who are fighting are quite enough for us, having signed a contract, they do it voluntarily, based on their patriotic beliefs. They fight like heroes, but they do it consciously," Medvedev said.

Earlier, on August 20, the permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vasily Nebenzia also noted that mass mobilization in Russia is not necessary. According to the diplomat, such measures are not planned or expected in the country.
