The Yabloko party was removed from the elections to the legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk region

Candidates from the Yabloko party have been removed from registration for elections to the legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk region. This was announced on August 28 by the press service of the Sverdlovsk Regional Court.

The lawsuit was filed by the regional branch of the Liberal Democratic Party. The party believes that Yabloko abuses the freedom of the media, violates the law on intellectual property during the election campaign and uses money in excess of the established limit to finance advertising.

"The administrative plaintiff referred to the circumstances established by the earlier effective decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation of August 10, 2026, and pointed to violations of electoral legislation by the administrative defendant," the court's press service reported.

After examining the case materials and hearing the arguments of the parties, the court found grounds to satisfy the LDPR claim.

On August 18, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Russia excluded the Yabloko party from the federal election ballot for the State Duma elections. The head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, noted that the commission had no other choice, as the Supreme Court on August 17 upheld the decision of the court of first instance, according to which the registration of the Yabloko party for the elections was canceled.
