Arestovich was sentenced in absentia to 11 years in prison.

The Second Western District Military Court sentenced Alexei Arestovich, ex-adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, to 11 years in prison in absentia (included in the Russian Federation's list of terrorists and extremists by Rosfinmonitoring) in the case of calls to terrorism and fakes about the Russian army. This was reported on August 28 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

According to the decision, Arestovich will spend three years in prison, and will go to a general regime colony to serve the rest of his term.

He was also deprived of the right to administer websites for four years. The trial took place behind closed doors.

On February 6, 2024, a court in Moscow arrested Arestovich in absentia for publicly calling for terrorism and discrediting the Russian Armed Forces. It was specified that the term of his arrest would begin from the moment of his detention or transfer to Russian law enforcement agencies.
