Syrian President appoints Kurdish leader Mazlum Abdi as his adviser
The President of Syria for the transitional period, Ahmed al-Sharaa, appointed the head of the Kurdish units of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF/SDF), Mazlum Abdi, as his adviser. This was reported by the SANA news agency on August 27.
"President Ahmed al-Sharaa issued a decree on Thursday <...> appointing Mustafa Khalil Abdi, known as Mazlum Abdi, adviser to the President of the Republic," the website says.
On August 25, Abdi announced the completion of the integration of the Kurdish military, security and administrative structures into the Syrian state institutions. The decision was the result of several months of negotiations between the Kurdish side and the Syrian authorities.
