The State Duma proposed to give men the right to leave after leaving the decree

Men who go on parental leave may be given the right to take annual paid leave immediately after they leave. On August 28, Tatyana Butskaya, Deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee for Family Protection and chairman of the Council of Mothers, made such an initiative.

"We ask you to consider the possibility of making changes to labor legislation providing for the right of the child's father to use annual paid leave at a convenient time for him immediately after the termination of parental leave," Butskaya said in a letter to the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov, the contents of the document are quoted by TASS.

The deputy noted that now not only the mother, but also the father or another relative can apply for parental leave. At the same time, the opportunity to take annual paid leave immediately after the end of such a period is fixed in the Labor Code only for women.

According to Butskaya, current regulations put men who take parental leave in a less advantageous position compared to mothers.

On August 1, the leader of the Fair Russia party, the head of the Duma faction, Sergei Mironov, proposed the establishment of a state award "For raising children" for men who raise three or more children.
