Supporters of the continuation of the conflict in Europe are spreading false information, seeking to prolong the Ukrainian conflict and benefit from it. This was announced on August 27 by Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

"European 'warmongers' are spreading false information in order to prolong the Ukrainian conflict and profit from it," a message on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Thus, Dmitriev commented on the publication of the Axios portal. In an interview with the publication, US President Donald Trump stated that he had no concerns about an alleged possible Russian attack on NATO countries.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on August 27 that Europe's attempts to artificially inflate the "Russian threat" in the media in order to justify an increase in NATO military budgets were nothing more than newspaper leaks. He added that Russia continues to conduct a special military operation, although it would prefer to achieve its goals through peaceful means.
