The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) will not support Infantino's candidacy for the presidential election of the International Football Federation (FIFA) in 2027, if he decides to run for a new term. This was announced by the UEFA committee on August 27.

"If the current FIFA president does seek re—election, UEFA will join forces with its partners to offer <...> a worthy alternative," reads a statement on the organization's website.

According to UEFA, the trust necessary to exercise the powers of the FIFA president has been undermined and cannot be restored by withdrawing one proposal or promising reforms after the incident.

We are talking about the conflict that began on July 28. Current FIFA President Gianni Infantino was going to attract private investors to finance the organization through the sale of small shares in the new company FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE). According to the developed concept, the new FFE company was supposed to take full control of the rights to host all key men's and women's world championships.

The initiative has faced harsh criticism and widespread condemnation. FIFA has abandoned the idea of creating an FFE, but Infantino's credibility has already been undermined.

On August 6, the President of the International Football Federation (FIFA) apologized for the mistakes he made when creating the concept and promoting the FFE project. The statement also notes that the federation's leadership acknowledged the shortcomings after information about the project appeared in the media. Infantino apologized for the situation and stated his intention to prevent such cases.
