Russian Zhovner won silver at the World Rowing Championships

Russian athlete Maria Zhovner won the silver medal at the World Rowing Championships on August 27. The tournament takes place in Amsterdam.

Jovner took second place in the lightweight singles competition. The gold medal was won by the representative of Mexico, Kenya Lechuga Alanis. The bronze medalist was Femke van de Vliet, an athlete from the Netherlands.

Russian rowers participate in the tournament in a neutral status. The World Cup in the Netherlands will last until August 30th.

On August 8, Russians Tatiana Cherkasova and Anastasia Burovtseva became the winners of the World Junior Rowing Championships in the doubles competition. In the men's doubles competition, Russians Vladislav Makarov and Kirill Kozitsin became the bronze medalists. Their result was 6 minutes, 19.57 seconds.
