Zelensky will arrive in Moldova amid heightened security measures
Moldova has increased security measures along the route of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who plans to visit Chisinau. This was announced on August 27 by the Telegram channel Sputnik Near Abroad.
It is specified that law enforcement agencies have set up a significant number of cordons along the route of the Ukrainian leader.
"More than 40 police posts have been set up along the highway along which he will arrive in Chisinau," the report says.
Due to the tight cordon and the large number of police officers, the authors of the publication described the format of the politician's arrival in the republic with the phrase "he will arrive under escort."
Independence Day is celebrated in Moldova on August 27. Zelensky intends to take part in the celebrations in Chisinau.
On August 24, the head of the European Council (EU), Antonio Costa, announced that the leaders of European states, as well as heads of organizations, had arrived in Ukraine to celebrate the country's Independence Day. Among them was Moldovan President Maia Sandu.
