Employees aged 40-60 are most optimistic about the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI), as they see new opportunities for employees in leadership positions, while young people are afraid of job cuts. This was reported on August 27 by Bloomberg, citing the results of a study by Glassdoor.

Almost half of Generation X employees (46.1%), born between 1965 and 1980, speak positively about the use of AI in their companies, compared with only a third of generation Z employees (32.2%), born from about 1997 to 2012.

The number of representatives of generation Y, born from 1981 to 1996, who are positive about the introduction of AI was 38.6%. At the same time, it is noted that the majority of representatives of each generation are critical of the new technology.

"Our fears that the inability or unwillingness of older workers to learn new technologies will make them irrelevant in the labor market have not been confirmed in the case of AI technologies, at least so far. <...> If you're in a higher position in your career, you're more protected," said Chris Martin, senior economist at Glassdoor.

According to the expert, experienced workers tend to get better results when working with large language models, as they have more experience in recognizing AI hallucinations and making accurate queries. However, more often than not, AI tools are still used by employees from generation Z.

Roman Yerkhov, CEO of the TuBi recruiting company, noted on August 26 that employees who use neural network responses without verification and refinement may become less in demand in the labor market. According to research data, many employees are already using AI without additional verification of the results: one large survey of more than 32,000 employees showed that 66% of respondents relied on neural network responses without analyzing them.
