The expert named promising areas for college education

IT, industrial automation, equipment operation, electrical engineering, construction, transport and logistics remain the most promising areas for college education. Graduates of such specialties receive applied skills and can be involved in work processes faster. Anton Vasiliev, director of the Hextech Technical College, told Izvestia about this on August 30.

"The most in demand are applied areas related to IT, industrial automation, equipment operation, electrical engineering, construction, transport and logistics. In these areas, a specialist can perform a specific set of applied tasks at the start, immediately after graduation, and gradually increase his qualifications," the expert noted.

According to Vasiliev, the requirements for novice specialists in applied professions have increased significantly. Modern businesses, especially manufacturing companies, need employees who are ready to work with complex engineering systems, industrial and robotic equipment.

The expert stressed that the development of technology requires specialists to constantly update their knowledge and improve their skills. At the same time, engineering areas and areas related to artificial intelligence remain among the most promising.

"Having studied such a specialty, a graduate receives a wide range of competencies that allows him to quickly find work in various industries," explained Vasiliev.

According to him, digital skills are becoming in demand not only in the field of ISH. For example, in logistics, specialists use platforms, routing and analytical systems, in industry they work with automated equipment and big data, and in construction digital models and specialized software are used.

Employers are ready to hire employees upfront, providing them with opportunities to master new functions.

"The opinion that digital skills are needed only by "IT specialists" is fundamentally wrong. On the contrary, employers expect young graduates to approach their tasks comprehensively, immerse themselves in business processes, learning how to properly evaluate the result and increase efficiency, including using digital tools," said the director of the college.

Vasiliev also noted the importance of practical experience for graduates. When choosing an educational program, he recommended paying attention to the number of practical classes, internships and the possibility of participating in educational projects. The practice helps students to start building a professional portfolio even before graduation and facilitates further entry into the labor market.

"When choosing the direction for admission to college, you should be guided primarily by your preferences and talents. Nevertheless, in any professional field, it is usually possible to find an educational program that provides clear applied qualifications, teaches students how to use modern tools and gives students a sufficient amount of practice," said Vasiliev.

He added that employers are more likely to pay attention to graduates who are already familiar with real work tasks and can adapt to the company faster.

Boris Gorskin, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow State University Admissions Committee, said on May 25 that over the past three years, the number of applicants who have applied for pedagogical training has increased by 25-30% annually. According to the expert, we are talking about teacher education programs with one or two training profiles, psychological and pedagogical education, as well as special defectological education.
